FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Plemmons Pepper?
Plemmons Pepper is a small-batch seasoning brand inspired by the flavors of California’s Central Coast. Every recipe was created by my dad, a chef who has used these blends in his catering and restaurant business for over 25 years. Our seasonings have been enjoyed by thousands — now we bring them straight to your kitchen.
How spicy is the Jalapeño Seasoning?
Our Jalapeño Seasoning is made with real jalapeños for authentic heat. Because fresh peppers vary, spice may shift slightly between batches — we always aim for a balanced, flavorful kick.
Buildable heat:
- Mild: a light sprinkle.
- More heat: a few generous shakes.
Is the BBQ Seasoning spicy?
Nope — the BBQ Seasoning is all savory flavor with zero spice. It’s perfect if you want bold taste without heat.
What’s the difference between the BBQ and Jalapeño Seasonings?
BBQ Seasoning: used as a true seasoning on raw meats or veggies before and during cooking — great for grilling, roasting, or pan-searing.
Jalapeño Seasoning: a finishing seasoning sprinkled on cooked foods to add fresh flavor and heat.

How do I use the BBQ Seasoning?
Use it like an all-purpose cooking rub:
- Sprinkle on chicken, beef, pork, fish, or vegetables before cooking.
- Perfect for the BBQ pit, grill, smoker, oven, or stovetop.
- Adds savory depth to burgers, roasted potatoes, stir-fries, and more.
How do I use the Jalapeño Seasoning?
This is a finishing touch — sprinkle on cooked foods right before eating:
- Pizza, tacos, eggs, pasta, grilled meats, or veggies.
- Avocado toast, salads, or popcorn for a spicy twist.
- Mix into dips and condiments — like ranch, onion dip, or ketchup — for instant heat.
My family keeps a jar on the kitchen table next to the salt and pepper — it’s what everyone reaches for every day. It’s like having a dry salsa: flavor and heat in one shake.
